Monday in the A.M.

We've only gotten an inch or two here at home, although AccuHunch insists we'll have 4" to 8". Okay; if we get it, we get it. Otherwise ... meh.

Temp is 8°, but they say it'll be sliding south most of the day, headed for -11 overnight. Again, whatever we get, we get.

I haven't checked headlines except to glance at commuter reports. They read about the way you'd expect: lots of loose, blowing snow and poor visibility.


I don't know about you (actually, I have a pretty good idea), but I'm truly weary of listening to these Dimocrits whining about how their candidate was cheated out of the Presidency. They're unable to prove it, but the media is giving them plenty of opportunities to claim it. So the low-information types, the empty-headed moronic 2nd-generation hippies who didn't vote, can all repeat the complaints/accusations.

I'd like to insist they get jobs, but who would hire them?

Rugged Individualism

Maybe not as much as I thought.

I was visited on Monday by an employee from one of my tenants who complained bitterly that the power wasn't on in her office, or in the break room.

"Did it just happen?" I asked.

"No, it went out Friday. We tried to call you but there was no answer." (Unlikely, at best. The land line forwards to my cell phone when I leave for the day.)

The breaker panel for her room is located 50 feet from her office door. She refused to be shown where it was, telling me "It's not in my job description."

I'll assume she has the wherewithal to turn on her own office lights, although I could be wrong. I fail to see how flipping one switch is different from flipping another switch, a little farther away.

Sigh...

I do wonder who feeds and dresses her, though.

It Is To Sigh ...

A year ago Christmas, we purchased a truck-bed tent for Older Daughter's pickup.

Today, there was a question from a fellow Amazon user, wondering if the six-foot model* would fit a seven-foot bed.


It begs the question, how do these people even operate a computer?

* Description: "fits 72" to 74" truck beds".

Major Screw-Up: Apple Maps

You may have heard about this, but here goes anyway.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A glitch in the Apple Maps app on newer iPhones and iPads guides people up to a runway at a major Alaska airport instead of sending them on the proper route to the terminal, an airport official said Wednesday.

The map actually stops at the tarmac, but twice this month, wayward drivers have continued across an active runway.

"It doesn't actually tell you to cross, but the problem is, people see the terminal then at that point, because they are right there, and they just continue across," said Fairbanks International Airport spokeswoman Angie Spear.

There were no injuries in either the Sept. 6 incident or the second one Friday, mainly because they both happened early in the morning, between flights.

"Obviously, it could have been a very, very, very dangerous situation had they come during a flight departure or arrival," Spear said.

That entrance to the taxiway has now been barricaded from traffic.

I have to ask: what the heck is wrong with these people?  Mindless obedience to an electronic device ... ARRRRRGH! And we've all seen the stories about people who follow the GPS instructions right into the ocean, when driving off a ferry boat.

"Low-information voters" takes on a whole new level of meaning.

Oh well. Next time you run into one of these people, ask 'em for a large order of fries.
