The Hammer Museum

Haines, Alaska - The Hammer Museum offers a unique view of the past through the use of the hammer. From ancient times to the industrial age, the hammer tells the story of man’s progress and ingenuity.

The Hammer Museum opened in 2002, and it became a non-profit organization in 2004. The museum does not have any paid staff; it is run entirely by volunteers and it has a seven-member board.

The mission of the Hammer Museum is to research, identify, exhibit, and preserve the history and use of hammers for the education of the general public. Central to our mission is the intent to benefit both a worldwide and local community.

This just goes to show there's something for everyone. If hammers are your thing, then these folks have just the place for you.

Perhaps I Shouldn't Rattle the Cage, But...

... I haven't received any spam messages here in quite some time. Other bloggers have complained, recently, about the volume increasing. I guess my readership (averaging some 350 hits/day) isn't high enough to attract spammers' attention.

Darn the bad luck, eh?

The only oddity I noticed is that a post about a friend's H&R "The American" revolver, written in October '10, still gets 30 or 40 hits a day. Curious, that. A fluff piece on local news items from February called "Alaska Shorts" still gets 60 or 70 hits daily, and the video of the moose fight is getting hundreds of hits every day.

That's the only one I understand, as it's not something the average persons sees.  :)
