Mt. Redoubt Rumbles Again

It's becoming more active. Here's the current news article about it.

"The shaking ... still remains well above normal "background" tremor levels..." the article says. So every community in this part of south-central Alaska remains at risk of ash fallout, if the old girl lets loose again.

Interesting times, indeed!

We keep a weather eye out. There are precautions: have spare air filters for the vehicles, dust masks for ourselves, and spare pantyhose. The locals tell us that wrapping the air filter in pantyhose provides just that much more protection against scouring the cylinders (and other moving parts) with silica & other particulates.
