We had an earthquake with our morning coffee ... a 5.73, which made the apartment sway for well over a minute. Lamps & the windchime by the picture window were swaying, and we could feel it for quite awhile.
I've checked the University's 'quake website, and it was located in Cook Inlet southwest of Homer. So it was about 160 miles or so to the south/southwest of here. I imagine Homer received a good shaking for a minute or two...
The cats were funny: Alex took off running toward the stairs, as if to discover who was shaking the upstairs. Gracie stayed in one spot, but had her neck stretched out nearly as long as her body, with dilated eyeballs. Funny li'l critters.
It's about 20 degrees this morning, and AccuHunch is guessing we'll get a couple inches of snow today. It's to be warmer (near 30) tomorrow with a little more snow tomorrow, and will then turn cold for the upcoming week.
That's about all the news that's fit to print; have a good one!

Earthquake, huh? Interesting place and interesting times. Glad it was far enough away so as not to produce any serious damage.
Cats are always acting strange. How do you know it was in response to the earthquake?
Now that I've stopped laughing, I can tell you that it was during the 'quake. Alex' mad dash to the top of the stairs was within 3 seconds of the onset of shaking. She isn't normally motivated to "dash" anywhere.
