I just got back.
Organizers of the Anchorage Tea Party were expecting 75 to 100 people. At 11:50, there were 250 to 300 people, with many more arriving as I drove through the area.
I could hear the chants from a block away, even with the windows closed and heater on (it was about 38 degrees). The horns honking almost drowned out the crowd.
There was no parking within six blocks of the event - it was at 7th & C; the first spot I found was at 6th & H. Since my time was limited, I had to settle for a couple rounds of drive-by photography. (I don't have a card reader at work which will function with my camera, so I can't add the photos until after work.)

Folks were chanting "No fake money!" and "Freedom now!" Some posters read "America not Amerika", "Freedom works - why don't you let it?", and "No more taxes - no more spending - retire Obama now".
I didn't see any protesters.
It will be interesting to see how/if the local press covers the event. I didn't see any TV cameras, either, but I recognized the photographer from the Daily News. The photo here is from their website.

OMG! i was there.. i had an eyepatch with the alaskan flag that said I voted Today and i had a sign that said "all your wages are belong to us" did you see me

Poemi, although you're not in any of the pics I was able to get while driving past, I did see your sign. I like that one!
One neat poster for your area might have read: "I can see Russia from here, Don't want to live in it."
Amazing turnouts all around the country, yet most of the MSM is still playing this phenomena down. Add it all up and you've probably got more people at tea parties than watch Olbermann. (Well, almost.)
I had hoped to go to the one in Phoenix, but it was at 5pm, and by then the allergy alert was sky high + traffic was horrid. Lousy time, but they may have been waiting for folks to get off work. The coverage was minimal here. Maybe Deedee saw more. I only caught the tailend of the local news.
