More Alaska Pictures

The first picture was taken downtown, at the start of the 2006 Iditarod race, and just happens to have me in it. I'm on the roof of the brown & green building, in a blue & white jacket. (You'll have to click for big.)

The moose in the front yard is the one which gave rise to the URL for this blog.

The pyramidal mountain along the highway is from our trip to Wasilla, earlier this year.

The pic with two mountains was taken from my bedroom window, about 3 years back. Those branches have since grown to the point that I can't get the digital camera to focus on the mountains ... but I get excellent close-ups of the branches.

The last picture is the driveway leading to the place where we first stayed, when we moved up here in 2003.

And finally, the picture in the header is Fish Lake, along Talkeetna Spur Road. The moose will return soon, I promise.

In the meantime, we're using today to prepare for MoBro's arrival - the girls will clean the downstairs, and we'll do upstairs. I will be climbing out onto the roof, after breakfast, to clean the windows. Yay.

Other than that, I apologize for the short posts over the last few days. I'm so disgusted with the national news - particularly regarding the impending nationalization of the healthcare industry - an out-and-out takeover - and paying for old cars with the taxpayers' money, that I haven't been able to work up a rant. (If I do, I might not stop.) Perhaps it's best if I go eat breakfast.

Rev. Paul,

I cannot condone this blatant bigotry shown by the absence of a moose. Speaking for moose lovers everywhere I am outraged Sir.

With that said, what an absolutely beautiful picture. I also like the ones in this post; the mountains are absolutely stunning.

Wonderful pics!

The Fish Lake picture in the header is stunning (loss of moose notwithstanding - LOL).

As always the scenery there is amazing...oh and waving hi to you on top of the building. *grin*

I have been to your beautiful state once. I hope to return again, to explore the wilds of Alaska! You have some nice fishing up there and I really enjoyed grilling what I caught, there is nothing like thse types of memories.
