Friday Thoughts

It's 10 degrees outside. Or 19 degrees, depending on which thermometer I look at. Apparently my place is the epicenter of competing fronts. Who knew?

All the assorted weather quacks, wonks, and other meteorological types agree that we'll get a couple of inches of snow today, and that's a good thing. Snow requires frequent additions of fresh powder to remain looking pretty.

I've polled wife, daughter, and myself. It's official: no one wants to work today. Not much of a surprise, though I did comment to daughter that wanting off on her 3rd day at the new job wasn't a promising sign. She said the job itself is fine; she just didn't want to get started today. That, I understood.

And some funnies:
Isn't it amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world everyday always just exactly fits the newspaper?

Hard work never killed anyone, but why take the chance?

According to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing in front of men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say that women are too judgmental, whereas men are just grateful.

I have all the money I’ll ever need – if I die by 4:00 p.m. today.

Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted. On that topic, good judgment comes from experience, which comes from bad judgment.

Isn’t it odd the way everyone automatically assumes that the goo in soap dispensers is always soap? I like to fill mine with mustard, just to teach people a lesson in trust.

The right to free speech does not guarantee an audience, nor does the ability to be heard automatically include any right to be taken seriously.

When you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?

I don’t have an attitude; I have a personality you can’t handle.

Some funnies "borrowed" from Theo S.

It's always great to laugh on a Friday. A great way to start the weekend. No snow here yet, I'm surprised, but not unhappy. ;-)
