"You may be interested to know that I supported an amendment to the HELP Committee health care bill which would require Members of Congress and their staff to enroll in any new federally-run government plan. The amendment passed the HELP Committee by a vote of 12 to 11, and I will continue to support this requirement if the Senate again considers a government option.
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)"
I didn't know they had passed the amendment; I give them credit for doing the right thing ... even though they may not ever mention it again.

Don't go speeding to the congratulations shop on this one, hoss. The amendment only got out of committee. Still hasn't seen the floor or been voted on by the House as a whole...and probably never will get to either of those junctures. Even if it does, the odds of it passing are minuscule.
The "they may not ever mention it again" comment meant that the amendment will never be mentioned again, IMHO.
