Monday Afternoon

The mood in the medical building where I work is somber, as the doctors and nurses try to absorb what's happening to health care in the U.S. The coffee shop, normally a hub of laughter and gaiety, has been quiet. People are NOT happy about what one guy described to me as "a virtual rape of the American economy".

It appears that many are actively angry, and what was a quiet topic of conversation is now loud, and getting louder. My only reply is, "Welcome to our side; where have you been?"

If you're looking for work, there's ONE position available at Denali National Park (home to "Mt. McKinley", known here as Denali for thousands of years). It seems they need a dog musher.

The article reads, in part:
... within a federal government that employs 19.7 million people, there is one -- exactly one -- dog mushing job.

And it's open.

The National Park Service is looking for a new kennels manager at Denali National Park and Preserve, a job that in addition to running Denali's 31-animal dog kennel includes mushing into one of America's great swaths of wilderness.

Click on the link for the whole thing, and the application.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by.
