It's 41 degrees, and I'm surrounded by drips. No, not that kind; the kind that result from melting snow.
Spots of bare or moss-covered earth are beginning to appear, in places where the snow cover has been thin due to sun, wind, or shelter from the storms.

We went back to O'Brady's for a second visit, wanting to re-capture the magic of that first meal a few days ago. This time was a bit different. We must have arrived at shift change, because no waiter appeared for nearly 15 minutes. On our last visit, we had our meals within 12 minutes of arrival.
The onion rings we ordered as appetizers were fresh and hot, but dripping with oil. That's not a good thing, so we sent them back. The chef promptly took them off our bill, so we can't complain about that.
We ordered burgers of various types, as an experiment. Daughter S's chicken supreme burger with teriyaki was apparent quite good, judging by the speed with which she devoured it. Daughter M's "all-American" burger was satisfactory, she said, but "nothing special".
My wife & I both got the "Shroom Burger" (shown at left) which features some very good sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. She enjoyed hers; I thought it was just okay, although the smoky flavor of the patty was quite good.
All considered, it wasn't as satisfying a meal as before, but still all right. Although the initial service was lousy (as in "there weren't any waiters visible for nearly 15 minutes"), the remainder was good, and the waitress who had just come on was very pleasant.
The best part of the evening came when my wife's boss, who was eating there also, paid for our entire meal. Nice!

I include here a picture of the road home, as I've received a few requests to show parts of town that aren't my back yard. I aim to please, so here's the road I took home from the restaurant.
Sorry - I know it's not very exciting, except for the mountains in the background (some 4 miles away). Now that the weather is warming again, I need to get out and take more pictures. Anyone want to see anything special?

It's sunny and nearly 70 here. I'll take it for the few days we have it. LOL. Now your post reminded me I haven't eaten yet... must go have lunch so we can walk. ;-)
Looking at the picture of the mountain just reminds how truly blessed you are to live in Alaska. What a truly beautiful state. If it was warm and sunny all the time it would be the garden of Eden;-)
