Overheard at the Grocery Store

Mom, pushing cart: So what else do we need?

Son: We need more ice cream.

Mom: We have lots of ice cream. We just bought it this morning.

Son: No, we don't.

Mom: Sure we do. It was in the back of the other car that you unloaded, this morning.

Son: Yes, right up until those two bears found it. That's when I went inside real fast.

Mom: There were bears in the car?!?

Son: I don't think you want to know the rest of this.

But were those bears in fur coats, or bears in hockey jerseys? :)

Two cubs, actually, while their mom sat a few feet away & watched them cavorting in what was left of the car's interior.

After my summer in Bettles I invited the guides to stop in at my house in CA if they were ever that way. I never expected to see them but one of them, Chris, rolled in. In a car that had been torn to pieces. The windows were plastic, and the seats duct taped back together. He drove it all the way to Fresno like that.

Bear had gotten in to it.
