Psalm 22:27-28: “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he ruleth among the nations.”
In a similar vein, Bill Walker - an "R" gubernatorial candidate who placed a distant second to the incumbent Sean Parnell - refuses to rule out a write-in campaign.
As a society, we've very wisely agreed that the ballot box beats the heck of the cartridge box. Nothing has to be rebuilt, nobody has their family torn apart, never to be healed this side of the Veil - even when you lose and lose badly, it's not as devastating as - say - Sherman marching through your hometown on his way to Atlanta.
But elections are only accepted as a substitute for violence so long as the better part of the populace can all agree that they matter.
Those who would rob the ballot box of its meaning ultimately then make the use of the cartridge box inevitable. It won't be this time, or the next, or the next.
But keep doing it - and it will come. The hour is already likely later than we think - for half the country, the wounds of 2000 still haven't healed.

Well, the alternative is to find honest work, which many of them have forgotten how to do.
I have a feeling that this is only a taste of the conflicts that are still to come.
