Christmas Eve, 2010

It's a balmy -6 here at Casa de Pablo, and the bedroom window was once again frozen partly open. I was able to get it closed, but probably need to scrape some of the frost out of the window channel to make it a good seal.

Breakfast consisted of just toast & jam (guava/pineapple, a souvenir we brought home from last month's Hawaiian jaunt), and several gallons of coffee.  Okay, I exaggerate about the coffee. A little.

We'll be heading out at 10:45 to a) drop off our oldest at her job, b) pick up the special cake my wife ordered from The Cake Factory, and c) go to lunch at a fancy-schmancy place downtown, overlooking the Inlet. Our reservation includes a key-lime pie - the best available anywhere around these parts - to go with our afternoon coffee. Hey, it's a holiday, right? .

I am once again thankful that we don't have any long drives or forced get-togethers on this holiday. After more than 25 years of doing the two- and three-family circuit, staying home is such a blessing.

Have a great, safe, wonderful Christmas, my friends.
