Local Color

Jenny recently asked for pictures of outfits worn by pit crews and spectators at the sled dog racing events in downtown Anchorage. Here are a few I found this morning, while searching for scenery shots for something else.

L-R: Sen. Lisa Murkowski (brown coat), Gov. Sarah Palin, Mayor (now Senator) Mark Begich (blue coat), and Mayor Denise Michels of Nome - Mayor Begich's son cutting the ribbon to begin the 2008 Iditarod

Mushers, handlers, and pit crews lining up on 4th Avenue
