It's NEVER easy, and the cost is high.

To the families of those who have given their all in our defense, we express our heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice those men and women made for us.

To all my friends and readers who ever served or are currently serving in the defense of our nation, thank you - and God bless you. But this day is not about veterans who survive; it's about those who didn't.

Mere words are not enough, but they're all we have with which to express our gratitude.
