Happy Dad's Day to all the dads out there. Almost any man can father a child, but it takes someone special to be a Dad.
Even if your kids don't say it, you're someone special.
On a personal note, it feels ... strange ... to have no one to whom I can send a Father's Day card. My father-in-law passed away in 2005, and of course, my dad went home to Heaven last month. But memories of those two good men are strong, and memories linger. It could be a sad occasion, if we let it.
I refuse to be sad. My dad did his best, and whatever shortcomings any of us have, "our best" is what we owe our children. So to all you guys who give your best for your kids, happy Father's Day.

My friend, I know you already know this, but your father is with you today and I have no doubt that he is interceding for his family; just like the great father you described him as.
