Larry Correia (yes, that Larry) is having an MHI patch contest, offering the winner(s) a chance to "appear" in his next Hunter book ... and probably be killed off, but that's beside the point. While shooting buddy Jenny works on a patch design that I suggested, she suggested a possible plot for an Alaskan chapter of MHI to be told as a short story.
I've written the 'story', just an introduction really, and would like to share it with you, BUT ... but I don't know the intricacies of publishing fan fiction based on someone's copyright material.
Help?
p.s. I've written to Mr. Correia to ask his permission, but he's a very busy guy. So if he doesn't/can't answer, I would still like other advice.
p.p.s - UPDATE: Larry gave me permission to "go have fun with it" if I want to. Heh.

Hit Larry's blog and ask him...he's seems to be a nice guy.
Seconded.
I've sent Larry email and gotten a kind reply in short order.
Leave a comment, or send him email.

Thank you, gentlemen. I corresponded with him after the first book, regarding late delivery of MHI patches (yes, we've already established I'm a geek), and he wrote to me twice.
I sent a request for permission this morning, at your suggestion.
And TJIC - thank you for the link.
