At my last job, the owner used to pay us all to get flu shots every fall. He figured it was cheaper to pay for the shots than to lose production because employees were out sick.
I hadn't gotten one since changing companies, lo these three years ago, and hadn't been sick, either. But yesterday, one of the tenants was giving free shots ... so I got injected.
It worked. I was up half the night with fever & chills; couldn't get warm nor stop shaking, and kept piling more blankets on top. Finally fell asleep in the wee hours, and then woke up in a pool of sweat because I had so many blankets on me. Duh.
I'm back in the office today, but not feeling it. Just not. Y'all go play, or something; I'll be back later. Play nice, and don't forget to share.

I don't get flu shots. I prefer to get it through kissing and other interpersonal activity!

In theory, because it's a killed virus vaccine, it can't give you the flu. But there's a lot of junk in the serum and I don't trust that other junk. So I don't get one. So far, I've gotten The Flu once, and the doc said vaccination wouldn't have prevented it because the vaccine didn't work that year. Soooo...

I don't get flu shots. I figure I was exposed to every communicable desease known to man while teaching middle and high school kids for 32 years. And if any missed me, it was because the little bugs were scared! Scared, I tell you!
Oh, man, I am so sorry. Every once in a while the flu shot gets me too and it is awful. I hope at least you have some immunity when you do feel better. Take care!
