You Can't Hunt in Town

and those aren't pheasants. From the Unalaska Police Blotter:

"Caller reported a youth in army fatigues was crawling around the softball field and shooting at gulls. They boy's parents said their son was hunting "pheasants," and believed that new ordinances allowed such activity in the city limits. An officer advised them of the rules pertaining to firearms use in the municipality."

Um... thinks a gull is a pheasant and that you can hunt inside city limits? Not wanting to be neighbors of these folks!

Reminds me of an old Italian immigrant from NYC on safari in the Catskills of "upstate" New York. Staying at a B & B, he came in after a day afield and asked if they could cook up the "gray grouse" he had shot. They said sure. Then saw it was a Great Blue Heron. They still cooked it up and the old man ate the fishiest grouse of his life.
