Home Invasion Results: Two Invaders Dead

From the Anchorage Daily News:
Police say two young men are dead after being shot by a man who said they forced their way into his East Anchorage home overnight and tried to rob him.

The occupant of the home, Larry James, 55, called 911 at 12:23 a.m. and said he had just fired shots at two men who had entered his home, according a statement issued overnight by police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker...

"Responding officers learned that two males entered James' home, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, and assaulted him, injuring his face. They forced James to his room to open his safe but James produced a handgun and fired shots at the intruders," Parker's statement said.

"One 19 year old male was found just outside the residence, still armed with a handgun but unconscious. A second 19 year old male was found collapsed at the nearby Tesoro Station. Both suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the torso, both were transported to local hospitals where efforts to save their lives were unsuccessful. Larry James was taken to a local hospital to address his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening," the police statement said.

There have been a number of home invasions here, this year, resulting in homeowners shot or beaten. It's about time someone remembered self-defense.  Read more at the link.

Good on him for defending himself. VERY good on him for all the other people who won't be terrorized by the thugs he planted.

Well, now, that should reduce the number of those home invasions considerably.
