This Should Not Be

I'm told this morning of oil-field workers leaving Alaska for Lower 48 locations (think North Dakota/Montana, etc) where oil exploration/drilling is taking place.

Between the Federal bureacracy-slash-powermongers and the "green" enviro-weenies tying up every single action in court for years, any new development or exploration here is D.O.A.

How long before the States stand up to The Government Machine and say, "It's our oil, and we're going to drill"?

Not soon enough, my friend, And it should be more like, "It's our state, we'll do what we want to do, screw you"

The middle east is now located in the mid west.

As soon as your state does, the Justice Department will sue you all, just like they have Arizona, Alabama, and South Carolina when those states dared pass laws that made life a bit harder for illegal aliens. This sort of thing will continue until everyone gets the message that the federal government is 100% totally supreme, or until those of us who still care manage to do something about it.

Texas and Alaska are the only states I see with enough…..hmm, what is the p.c. word I need…..anyway, they are the only states I see that would take the steps to put the feds in their place. They could at least tell them where that place is and give directions if needed. In addition, we can send a greenie home with each oil worker leaving Alaska, only give the oil worker a return trip pass.

North Dakota is a'boomin' - I heard 25,000 jobs available due to oil fracking. Not just in the industry but in the support industry - houses, restaurants, stores. In some areas McDonalds is offering $15 per hour. That is, until the Federal government decides it needs to interfere.

The word I suspect S.S. was looking for is fortitude, spelled b***s!

The Marcellus formation has gas drilling booming here in northern PA. A stop at the local WalMart will often lead to spotting license plates from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Louisiana, and, yes, even Alaska as well as other states.

Lots of gas drilling/piping jobs but the local businesses are doing pretty well also.

Not soon enough is correct... 5 years from first drill in the ground to getting it to the pump...

Nevada once bucked the Feds - for literally about 15 minutes - over the 55mph speed limit.

Didn't I hear Texas backed down just about as quickly last spring over TSA?

And wasn't Shell involved in some losing flap with EPA over off-shore drilling in Alaska this past summer?

I believe I just read something about law enforcement in northern California deciding to pay attention to their oath: "all enemies, foreign and domestic"

I believe our country can be regained, but it will require a coordinated effort at the State - or maybe County - level. I don't think individual effort (directly) will be enough anymore.

One big problem I see with that is that many of us that are concerned are also busy earning a living - leaving it to those of the mindset to be in politics ... to BE in politics.

And many - most? - of those are people that have other agendas...like not having to work for a living
