It's 2 degrees & snowing lightly. Traffic was sparse on the way in, proving that many working stiffs were more clever than I about getting the day off.
My daughters took me to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie last night: I think it's better than the first one, especially the scenes where Sherlock & Prof. Moriarty are verbally dueling, face to face. The suspense is well-played, with just enough comic relief to keep you from being overwhelmed by the fast-paced dramatic sequences ... and there's a fantastic revamp of the "that's not a gun, THIS is a gun" meme. Twice.
Thanks to everyone who commented on the posts about Alaska, over the last three days. My co-author is working on a website-slash-forum, and I'll pass that URL along as soon as it's ready. In the meantime, if you have any questions, my e-mail address in in my profile.
I expect my office to be very slow, this morning, and will probably leave before lunch. My outlook will be much improved by walking out the front door, I suspect - not that I have a negative attitude; I'd just rather not be in the office today.
Have a safe holiday weekend, folks!

Happy New Year!
My attitude was made much better when I heard we're getting cut loose 2 hours early today.
ProudHillbilly - getting out early brightens most folks' day. Staying home altogether would have been even better, but that didn't happen.
Happy New Year Rev.! I don't think I will get to go home early. Someone has to cut off the coffee makers. Oh and lights. Oh and the chillers. And other stuff.
Keads - thanks, and Happy New Year to you, too. I work alone, and all the systems are automated, so it doesn't make much difference when I leave. The landline forwards to my cell when I'm not on-site, anyway.
Have a Happy one Rev, at least no mid-watch tonight...LOL
Old NFO: we're going out to see Mannheim Steamroller tonight, which beats the heck out of a cheesy AFRTS movie on the mess deck at midnight.
