at 27 degrees this morning. Last night's winds have died down, which is probably a good thing. We've had sun & temps in the mid- to upper-50s for a few weeks, and got spoiled by those above average temps.
Oh well, back to normal isn't really an issue, is it?
Meanwhile, it's sharply colder & snowing in western Alaska, this morning. Welcome to May!

The Dept. of Transportation, Muni and/or Alaska, has just begun a multi-year upgrade to The Highway (the only one there is) through the southern half of Anchorage. Looks like we'll be, um, inconvenienced for the next couple to several years as they start widening the existing four lane divided highway to six. Detours, interruptions, heavy traffic funneled into one lane, and so on. Yay.

Looks like they're having temps in the 90s where we're headed tomorrow night. Jolly stuff for Alaskans acclimated to much cooler weather. Time to get out the Hawaii wardrobe; Dixie may never be the same. :)

Oh the glare of a northerner in shorts!
Have fun sweating down south.
Yes, the fish-belly white of our Alaskan skin may be startling to pets and young children. Look away. :)
Ah, the Alaskan state flower - the orange cone - blooms again. Remarkably hardy, it blooms every spring during road removal, and lasts until the late fall snow repair.
