Happy Daughter is Happy

The ammo shortage began, last fall, shortly after Older Daughter purchased a Ruger LC9. She's been despairing at her very limited ammo supply ever since.

There has been no 9mm ammo to be found, anywhere, for six months ... until this morning. At Wally World, I just happened to walk past the sporting goods area and saw a lone Remington UMC Mega-Pack (250 rounds) for $63.97.

Not a bad price at all ... and now that box resides on her desk, awaiting her return from wherever she's gone this morning.

I suspect she'll be grinning all day.   :^)

9mm has been available here all along but at a much inflated price. I think I have some 9mm brass laying around I would have sent ya if you reload. I don't stock that caliber.

PioneerPreppy, I don't. Probably should, though.

You're such a good Dad...well done.

People must be calming down a bit; there are again AK's for sale at nearby Classic Arms, although at the inflated price of $799 instead of the pre-Aurora $499.

You are a good father Rev. Want to adopt a balding 53 year old retired cop?? I could really use some 9mm myself!

Good job, Rev!

Stephen, thank you.

Bob, there's still precious little ammo here, except in some hunting calibers (like .30-06). I didn't even bother looking at firearms, since I'm not in the market.

Six, thank you. Re: adopting you ... hmm. :^)

Thanks, drjim.

You are such a doting Dad. I don't say this as a criticism, rather as recognizing one of my own.

You rock as a dad...and I'm much less trouble than Six is, just to offer an alternative to his suggestion.

Rev. Paul,

You're daughter is going to be surprised and happy.

Wally World tip I received from one of the employees in the hunting department, stop in the hunting department around 7:15AM during the week, ammo is generally unloaded and placed off the side behind the counter for quick sell.

We've walked away with purchasing with 9MM, 223, and 45 ammo for my husbands friend.

Thank you, Borepatch - I take it as a compliment.

ML, message received & understood. :^)

Sandy, she was - and thank you for the advice.

A friend of mine found an old receipt (from 2008) with some ammo purchases.
9mm - $6.95/50
.45 ACP - $9.95

Both Winchester ball.

I suspect, much like gasoline prices, we're being lulled into acceptance and complacency. And more shortages.

PS - Good for her!

I concur, gfa. "more expensive" is the new normal.
