I Must Have Been a VERY Good Boy!

Regular readers will recall that I gave each daughter a rifle, last year.
Under the tree this morning, I found these (and I apologize for the rotated pix - don't feel like arguing with the computer this morning):

In the category of "sowing and reaping", the harvest begins ...

Wait for it ...

It's a good thing to be on the "nice" list!

Score! But can you fire .30-'06 in a Garand? Isn't there a pressure issue, similar to the .223/5.56?

Rev. Paul said...

Bob, it's a .30-'06 rifle, certified by the C.M.P. to handle .30-'06 rounds to 180 gr. Above that, the recoil might damage the rod etc.

WHOO-HOO!

Another CMP M1!

Too bad we can't get together and go shoot them.

I'm thinking of taking mine out next week to see how she shoots.

Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS, Rev!

Some time back, I too was gifted a Garand by a magnificent gentleman. It is, as best I can decide, the single most thoughtful Christmas gift I've ever received.

Thank you, Dr. Jim - it would be fun, wouldn't it? :) I'll be shopping on Saturday for a sling, grease, and more ammo ... but a range trip is definitely in the offing!

Rev. Paul said...

Carteach, I must agree. This one's from my wife & both daughters, and I'm still staring at it in awe. Oh, and it's my age, too. :)

I don't know what's more impressive: The Rifle or THREE (!!!) boxes of ammo!

Good boy, indeed!

Nice score, you need to let your readers in on how to get on the really, really nice list.... ;-)

Rev. Paul said...

NFO, agreed! Thank you.

doubleportion, I think you're right.

Ajdshootist, it is. Thank you, and the same to you, sir.

joated, three boxes is just a start (as you know). But it's a good start!

Thanks, angrymike. It's all about obedience to God's Word ... but I suspect you knew that. :)
