Some People Never Learn Dept.

From the Dutch Harbor Police Blotter:

Devon C. Davis, 22 yoa, drove to UDPS to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear, original charge Disorderly Conduct.

Davis, having been advised by an officer when he turned himself in on an outstanding warrant that his license was revoked and he would be arrested if he drove, then elected to drive from UDPS after he posted bail. Davis was arrested on one count of Driving while License Suspended/Revoked and one count of Violating Conditions of Release.

You just can't help folks if they don't want to listen. Sigh ...

Sounds to me like he wanted to be arrested so he could get a bed and 3 squares... LOL.

Maybe, but I'm betting on plain old stupid. :)

Reminds me of one of my sons when he was thirteen. He gave someone money to buy him cigarettes. The buyer got arrested for shoplifting. As he was being arrested, my son went up and demanded his money back or the cigarettes. When the policeman told him to move on, he tried to fight the policeman.

That one just leaves me shaking my head ... I hope he learned from it.

I wish he learned from it. Took a few more times, until he was nearly thirty, for the lessons to sink in. Half Celtic, half Norwegian, and all beserker. Must admit a certain amount of proud parent that the last time it took six policeman to cuff and stuff him. Also admit to considerable financial pain in the form of lawyer bills. I should have shipped him to Dutch Harbor. He would have fit right in.

Ouch. Glad to hear he finally got it, though.
