Unalaska Police Blotter: Assume He's in Jail

Harassment  - An intoxicated and emotional woman who lived in this community [Dutch Harbor, AK - Ed.] decades ago called from out of state approximately 20 times to say that her husband had threatened to kill her and had also ordered some pornographic materials. It was unclear whether the two complaints were related. Police in the woman’s jurisdiction were asked to check on the woman; they later reported that she was fine and had become a regular customer in recent weeks.

Welfare Check - An officer stopped to check on a young boy who was alone, inappropriately dressed for the weather and had darted across Airport Beach Road without checking for traffic. Both the boy’s parents eventually arrived on scene, but the mother refused to identify herself and the father became aggressive with the officers who were there to help his son.
Followed by ...
Assault - Edward “Randy” Baker, 44 yoa, was arrested for Assault IV - Physical Injury to a Law Enforcement Officer, after he shoved and struck an officer who had attempted to help his young and inappropriately dressed son.

Suspicious Person/Activity - Caller reported a man, possibly intoxicated, walking in the middle of the roadway. Officers found the man, who was not inebriated but was quite chilled after wandering about the admittedly confusing road system in search of the CEM dock. An officer provided the man with transport to his vessel.
And finally, there's this ...
Welfare Check - Out-of-town wife phoned police to determine if her husband was in jail, as she had not spoken to him for several hours. An officer contacted the husband in his hotel room and advised him of his wife’s concern.

So she hadn't heard from her husband and therefore assumed he must be in jail? Wow.

Maybe she was just hoping he was in jail?

This gives me an idea though. I should call and report a missing person because I haven't seen em update their blog in several days. Seems out of town callers get some action in Unalaska :)

Preppy & Old NFO, it sounds to me like perhaps she knew something about his plans, before the fact. :)

WSF, that's a curious remark, and makes me even more determined to stay away from them.

No, threecollie, they don't.
