Driving on a Sunny Day

Looking northeast from Potter's Ridge. That's the Cook Inlet at low tide (center), and Mt. Susitna - also known as "the Sleeping Lady", some 40 miles distant.

Looking west across Cook Inlet. The Tordrillo mountain range is visible across the center of the photo, but I should point out that the morning haze, and sun on the snowy peaks, 75 miles away, made picture-taking problematic.

Another view to the northeast. When you enlarge the photo, you'll see the Seward Highway curving across the lower center. Potter Marsh, an aquatic bird sanctuary appears brown at this distance. Anchorage is to the right; Cook Inlet to the left.

Turnagain Arm from Bird Point, about 11 miles west of Girdwood. Those are the Kenai Mountains across the water.

This is looking north from the same vantage point, at the Chugach Mountains.

Portage Creek near Moose Flats, not far from the Portage Glacier. The opaque teal color in the water is due to glacial silt. And trust me, this is where I saw huge bruin tracks.
