Unalaska Police Blotter: Large Men

Assistance Rendered
Officers responded to a residential fire, and found the house occupied by 30-40 partiers, one of whom was trying to cool an overheated boiler with a bottle of Corona. Officers evacuated the building, turned off the boiler's fuel source and advised fire personnel of the problem.

Animal
Neighborly dissatisfaction with a debris-dispersing, digging, defecating dog.

Request for intervention between a homeowner tired of poo piles in her yard and a pet owner whose dog apparently seeks out the homeowner's yard in the wee hours of the night.

Suspicious Person/Activity
Officers responded to the Small Boat Harbor regarding a report that a large man was beating on a small lock, attempting to gain entry to a sailboat. The large man was gone by the time police arrived, but the drunken man who was inside the vessel making unpleasant remarks about the officers eventually came outside and was taken home by his mother.

DUI
[A woman], 24 yoa, of Unalaska, was arrested for Driving under the Influence and Reckless Driving after an officer had to drive on a sidewalk to avoid being struck by her.

Assault
A heated argument between a bar employee and an intoxicated bar patron, regarding the patron's sexual orientation and dress, resulted in the patron climbing into a bathroom stall and shoving the employee's head in a toilet. [The patron], 25 yoa, of Washington, was subsequently arrested for Assault IV.

Assist Other Agency
Officer conducted a urine test on a felony probationer, whose probation conditions became substantially more stringent after the test was completed.

Suspicious Person/Activity
Caller reported three large men were sitting on his car and refused to get off when he asked them to do so. An officer subsequently contacted one of the big men, who admitted to leaning against but not sitting on an irate man's truck. The big man denied that any other men, large or small, were involved in the altercation.
