"The Grey Man" - A Great Read Keeps Getting Better

Fellow blogger and friend JL Curtis has done it again.

Over the last few years, he's published a series of books which Amazon describes as "The Grey Man, a Texas based current fiction series revolving around LEOs and Marines."

But there's much more to it than that. If you're a fan of Louis L'Amour or Longmire, then you'll want need to read these.

The Grey Man is a deputy sheriff in Pecos County, Texas. With 30 years on the job, Capt. John Cronin is also a Viet Nam veteran, and a recognized expert in drug smuggling and more. He's seen more than his share of tragedy. But there are triumphs, too, and many friends gained along the way.

John and his granddaughter Jesse Miller, a fellow LEO and Marine wife, face the challenges of day-to-day life, the military bureacracy, Mexican drug cartels and illegal border crossings.

The Grey Man books are Vignettes, Payback, Changes, and Partners. Drawn from a composite of real-life friends and people the author has known, one gets the feeling that the stories are real, rather than fictional. The actors are authentic, and you're going to like them. In fact, if you're anything like me, you'll begin to think of them as people, rather than merely characters.

And if you're in a tight spot, you'll wish you had a John Cronin on your side. I can't recommend the entire series strongly enough: they're that good.

Oh - and don't start it right before bedtime. It will keep you up. :)

I will be getting this book ASAP. We love our L'mour books and Longmire should run for President. On that note I am going to go and enjoy the rain, we have been dry for almost three weeks and hot as well so it was and is needed. God Bless you and your family.
