By our estimation, that would make about 2,943 pumpkin pies.
Marshall, of Anchorage, broke his own record -- he won the title back in 2016 with a pumpkin just slightly smaller, at 1,469 pounds.
His was the largest of six giant gourds to take to the scale in front of a large audience in the Craig Taylor Farm Exhibits barn, amidst the livestock and near the vegetables and other Alaska-Grown entries.

The prepper in me sees home canned pumpkin, dehydrated pumpkin, pumpkin butter, etc. etc. etc. :)
The gardener in me sees lots of weeding, and feeding to make something grow that big!!
Wonder if it would be any good for pie, etc?
And what is done with it now that it has been harvested and won the blue ribbon?
Vicki, probably more processed pumpkin there than any ten families would want to eat.
Suz, I'm not sure what's done with them after the Fair. Seems they used to publish that info, but I don't recall seeing anything lately.
