For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26-28 KJV
But now you have arrived at your destination: By faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe—Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise. In Christ’s family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ’s family, then you are Abraham’s famous “descendant,” heirs according to the covenant promises.

Sometimes we have trouble remembering we are all one family.
Thank you, Reverend.
Reverend - an interesting and challenging verse to me. In our church, which is definitely multi-racial and multi-cultural, this is always the unspoken challenge: are we truly one in Christ in all things or when politics and societal issues press, do split into our smaller groups rather than prize unity in Christ first? Sadly, I feel it is more of the latter.
People being what they are, they still fragment along familiar lines. But the Bible makes it clear that we are a NEW thing on the earth: the Christian race, and He intends that we so act. And by His grace, someday we will.
Sadly, many seem to forget that...
I don't believe that the Lord will allow us to forget it much longer, sir. I strongly suspect that He is going to accelerate the pace of reconciliation & the church's adherence to His will.
