Another Job Well Done

(Note: we've had precious little snow this season, as it's all gone southeast into the Lower 48. Darn it.)

Once in awhile, the weather cooperates with my randomized work schedule. Today is such a day.

We got a few inches of snow yesterday morning, while I was at work. During the day, temps rose to 37°, so the snow shrank and turned slushy.

Last night, as temps dropped below freezing again, we got more snow. So this morning, a non-workday, I was able to attack the snowfall while it's still relatively fresh, with only a few tire tracks in it.

From top to bottom, you can see much of the 270' of driveway. This snow still has a lot of moisture in it, and was rather ... well, chunky. It required a bit more effort on my part than is usual, as the snowblower kept veering to the sides.

But the machine and I managed.

Brushed off and put away. Still a bit wet, but I draw the line at rubbing it with a towel.  :)

Looks lovely! Glad you could drive in good weather.
Snow blowers are a nice invention. :-)

To borrow a phrase from a Dirty Harry movie...."My, that's a big one"!

And I see they gave you one of the tools to clear the discharge chute when it gets clogged with wet snow.

Jim, it's a 30" intake, 18" high opening, with a 306cc engine. 6 forward speeds, 2 in reverse ... and the most significant spec is (if you're not feeling your Wheaties) it weighs 275 lbs. But it makes quick work of that long driveway, which is okey-doke with me.

Hey, you have my snowblower!! Except I have a light on the right handle bar...that is great snowblower!! Mine saw almost 20years of heavy Northeast winters, before it was moved to West MI. Hasn't been used much here, but it still runs. Only put no e-gas in it so the carb doesn't need to be cleaned once a year. It starts right up, and does a great job!!

Any time you want your snow back come and get it...By Tomorrow, Wednesday we will have had a record year of snow old record set in 1962

Sorry about your lack of snow but the long term drought is some areas will be eased by all that water.

Suz, almost all the Ariens models have a light on the right handlebar, including mine. It's a keeper. :)

Rob, we'll take all that snow right back up here. The two heaviest snowfalls on record for the Anchorage area (we're not in that city, but not that far away) have occurred since we've been here, and another would be welcome.

WSF, I know all those areas need the water. But we do, too; winter droughts are followed by summer forest fires, and ours measure in millions of acres. Since we live on the edge of the Chugach Nat'l Forest, it's hard not be concerned about things like that.
