Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare,
but only those specifically enumerated. ... Whensoever the General Government
assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.
~ Thomas Jefferson
The
evils of tyranny are rarely seen but by him who resists it. ~ John Hay

Linda, I was stationed in Greece for nearly two years, but this pic is from my first visit to the Acropolis. And yes, the slide into corruption is never so bitter as when they insist that you must go along.
And that slide is INCREASING... sigh...
Republics do not tend to last much (practically speaking) beyond 200-250 years. And we are darn close to 250.
It seems to be a freefall at this point.
