It's pretty much as you say, Linda. However, we are commanded to give Him thanks even in the midst of ugly and/or dangerous times (1 Thessalonians 5:18), so that is our job. Resolving the situation in the District of Crimina ... er, Columbus is His job.
IMO, the 2020 elections will be a referendum on the whole mess. How will it go? Who knows.
