It is perhaps unfair to judge a person by their response to a device never seen before. A modern driver would likely be confused by the controls on a 1918 Pierce Arrow. But still ...

Years ago, I needed to make a call from Grandma's house. By then I'd been using push button phones for years. I picked up the hand set, then found myself staring blankly at the dial, unable to remember what I was supposed to do.

Wow! That..I..she..(sigh)...wow! I mean, really, you’d think she’d at least try to move the parts more! There’s a circle thingy, at the end of which is a stop..hmm...

PH, I think we've all had a moment of brain freeze when confronting something which used to be familiar.

squeeky's mom, there's that. :)

I'll never forget the sound they made when you dialed them.

There was something satisfying about the sound, wasn’t there?

Hanging up forcefully WAS fulfilling, no? 😏

It was! It's like throwing a bad book across the room, hurling it away from you in sheer rejection of the stupidity - now I have to go make sure the otterbox protected the phone.

Smart phones have given us many opportunities, but they also denied us some of life's best expressions of disgust!

Clearly, the kid needs to watch more old movies, eh?
