Be Careful What You Ask For, Part 3: The Tale of the Tape

So, at last count, we received a total of 25 inches from Wednesday night through Friday morning. Combined with the 32 inches which started in late September, we've gotten 57".

And it's only mid-November. For perspective, AccuHunch tells us we get about 72" in a "typical" winter, whatever that is.

Something tells me it's going to be an interesting winter.

I'll take a "dusting once in a while, but I HATE it when we get thumped. Which is why I don't live in Alaska.

A couple years ago we got hit with a "snowmageddon" here in the Oregon Wilamette valley.

Got 30 inches in 2 days.

House was creaking from the roof load.

No power for a week(had generator so no big deal).

Nope. Don't want what you have. HUNKER DOWN, brother!!

If we hunker down every time it snows, we’d never leave the house. 🙂 Fortunately, we’re equipped for heavy snow up here.

Wow, yes, could be an interesting winter... sigh... NOT what we need on top of everything else.

You all stay safe and God bless.

NFO, that’s a good point. I would rather have just the snow, all things considered.

Thank you, Linda.

Now that is a very glass-half-empty-point-of-view!!

Maybe you only have another 25 or so inches to go and then mud season will start very early this year!!

Think positive!

Me, on the other hand...I am positive we are in for a very interesting winter...and we haven't had any of the frozen white water yet at all...we haven't even had a hard frost yet here in Upstate NY.

Stay safe driving up there sir!

It boggles the mind, Reverend - and yes, not a promising sign for the Winter to come.

I am sure you are more than equipped for it - that said, please continue to be safe. Plenty of fools out there.
