Phase 1 Complete

The first floor walls and ceilings are painted. All the blue tape removed from door frames (nine), baseboards, light fixture bases, etc. Switch and outlet covers replaced. You know, the regular drill.

Now we await the carpet-layers, sometime in the next week or so.

Still have to go do the weekly grocery shopping, but - strangely enough - the list is shorter than it used to be. Two people versus four, and all that.

We're a bit tired.

Later.

Two Observations on the Day

Today's ceremony, for the second of our two daughters, will make the third high school career that my wife & I have completed.

I entered high school in '69; it never occurred to me I'd be finishing for the third time in 2012. Yeah, it's someone else's diploma, but we've been involved in every step of the process for the girls, too. (Home-schooling, and all that.)

I think I can now say that we're finally done with home school.Well, as much as any parents are ever truly "done" helping their offspring ... which is to say, that ain't happenin'.

Speaking of which, I noticed that Sam seemed, well, taller this morning. Yep, she's grown another half-inch to 5'10".
