Rare Weather Event
This won't be surprising to anyone except fellow Alaskans, but we had extremely rare weather last night:

Volcano & Lightning
Here are two photos from today's Anchorage Daily News: both showing lightning in the smoke-and-ash plumes above Mt. Redoubt, overnight.
