Getting Colder, part 2

We made it up to -1 today, and now - two hours past sunset - it's already 9 below zero. Accu-Hunch's latest guess is that we'll drop to minus 14 tonight, and perhaps 17 to 20 below, tomorrow. They also predict (for what it's worth) that we'll approach normal with temps in the teens above, by next week.

It's a crystal clear night out, although it looks like fog may be forming at ground level. It seemed hazy, looking through the trees, as my older daughter & I were setting out post-Christmas debris a few minutes ago.

But I have a warm meal in my stomach, and all's right with our world. The furnace is performing adequately, and we have no plans to go back out tonight. I'll work a half-day tomorrow, and then have the long weekend ahead.

Local news: a man from Togiak, Alaska has pled guilty to illegally transporting and selling a walrus head and tusks. And you thought your news was exciting!

What else: Gov. Palin has been invited to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. next February. She hasn't said whether she'll go.

That's about it for now. We'll stay in, and enjoy reading what everyone else is saying.
