A Grey Sunday

We have a grey sky, and grey trees covered with a grey frost. The air is filled with a light grey fog. The only colors are the white snow on the ground (okay, so it's an absence of color - at least it's not grey) and the spruce trees. Their green appears so dark today that they seem almost black.

The temps are about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday at this time; we have 9 degrees here.

My youngest & I will be heading out to the new Target store shortly, to do the last of the Christmas shopping. Note I didn't say "holiday."

Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One, and the 25th of December - while most assuredly not His birthday - is the day on which the Christian world has observed His arrival for centuries. I know all about the Solstice ritual, etc. It doesn't change anything.

12/25 is the anniversary of the Christ Mass, and that's all there is to it. No other holidays will change that, no matter how hard the MSM/LSM try to cram them down our throats.

It wasn't my intention to go there, this morning, but sometimes these posts write themselves ... and I don't apologize for it.

In fact, I celebrate it - let His name be shouted from the mountain tops! That's why we have this "holiday season" in the first place.

In the meantime, I see the sun's glow through the trees to the southeast, and I hope it can burn away the thin clouds and haze. We had only 15 minutes of sunlight yesterday; let's hope today is brighter.

UPDATE: We just returned from the shopping trip; it has become more foggy, and is snowing in parts of town. The sun is visible, through the haze, from time to time, and has made the dull grey become lighter & more cheery. It's better than nothing, so we'll take it; on the other hand, there's not much choice ...
