Given the number of people for whom using a turn signal is a foreign concept, I suppose I could have waited until after work ... but that's not my style. There's a problem; fix it now, then go on with the day.

Legislative Update: We're awaiting Governor Parnell's signature on the Alaska Firearms Freedom Act, which the Legislature passed on the 16th, before adjourning this year's session on the 18th.
Unfortunately, HB 381, amending the "attempt to retreat" law with "self defense in any place where a person has a right to be" got stalled in the Senate Finance Committee. What it has to do with finance, I'm not sure, but that's where it is. Dang it.
(For the record, the 'castle doctrine' is firmly in place. The new law would apply to other places, i.e., stores, offices, etc.)

Raptor fever ran hot Saturday at Gunsight Pass off the Glenn Highway.
The Audubon Society's annual hawk-watching was a rousing success, according to the linked article. Watchers counted over 350 raptors, including some 120 Harlan hawks with their 4+ foot wingspans.
The article has a lot more detail about Saturday's event, plus the schedule for upcoming bird festivals.
