A really big one, too. Kari Bustamante of KTUU-TV snapped this shot of a 7'1" halibut pulled from the waters off Whittier, Alaska (some 45 or 50 miles southeast of Anchorage). According to her report, it was too big to be weighed by the equipment on hand at the time.
The world record is 459 pounds, and said halibut is mounted on the main landing at the Ted Stevens Airport here (south terminal). The one pictured here appears to be larger; I hope someone figured out how to weigh the thing.

Yep, that is a fillet or two (dozen)...
I believe that's what they call a "Barn Door"!
I would love to go fishing for one of those. However, I am not sure SR would appreciate cleaning it;-)
