God's Word for Tuesday, 10/10/17

Take good counsel and accept correction— that’s the way to live wisely and well. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails.
Proverbs 19:20-21 MSG

The problem often is trying to figure out which way God wants us to go.

That is a problem with which many Christians struggle. I've found that if we can get our minds to sit down & shut up - not always easy - the Lord will make the direction clear. We think too much. :)

My husband told me the same thing last night. We are in the process of clearing an old building so we can put up a new one for a workshop. We were discussing what size would be best, and I was trying to figure out how to hang the pegboard to move all his bins. Hubby told me I was over thinking it.

I am thankful our Lord is patient because I always worry and don't like to leave things for the last minute.

Hubby is always saying our middle son let's things happen to him. I just like to try and be ready. Sadly, I am a worry wart.

Thank you, Reverend. I look forward to your posts.

Actually, Linda, I was saying that our over-thinking things keeps us from hearing the Lord's voice, but I take your point, too. :)

Rev. Paul,

Amen! Only if everyone would slow down and listen God provides us with the answer every time. Because we're all so busy, we don't stop and just listen.....that's usually when we get ourselves into a predicament or in trouble.

Sandy, that is absolutely the problem, right there.
