From Gateway Pundit - FBI Warns of High Threat of Terror Attack in the US Today: ‘Be Aware of Your Surroundings’

On the anniversary of the day Israel wept, the FBI is warning Americans that terrorism may come to the United States.

Monday marks one year to the day since Hamas terrorists left parts of southern Israel the scene of death and human atrocities. It also marks one year since Israel launched its campaign to bring down Hamas, a military effort that has since morphed to include Hezbollah to Israel’s north.

The FBI noted that Oct. 7 comes  amid “consistent calls by foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) to their supporters seeking to provoke violence in the West.”

The warning said the anniversary “as well as any further significant escalations in the conflict, may be a motivating factor for violent extremists and hate crime perpetrators to engage in violence or threaten public safety.”

“Over the past year, we have observed violent extremist activity and hate crimes in the United States linked to the conflict,” the warning said.

The warning noted that public gatherings “present attractive targets for violent attacks or for hoax threats by a variety of threat actors, including violent extremists and hate crime perpetrators.”

The warning highlighted the threat of what it called “lone attackers to conduct violence in the United States.”

The warning said individuals motivated by terrorist propaganda “could act alone to commit an attack with little to no warning.”

“Be aware of your surroundings at all times and report suspicious activities to the authorities,” the FBI notice said.

Police departments in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Philadelphia have all increased patrols, according to CNN.

Last month, the FBI reported that during 2023, it recorded 1,832 hate crimes against Jewish people, up 63 percent from 2022 and the highest ever recorded since data was first collected in 1991, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

The ADL noted that hate crimes against Jewish people made up 58 percent of all hate crimes in 2023 and 68 percent of hate crimes where religion was a factor.

“At a time when the Jewish community is still suffering from the sharp rise in antisemitism following Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, the record-high number of anti-Jewish hate crime incidents is unfortunately entirely consistent with the Jewish community’s experience and ADL’s tracking,” Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO, said.“Hate crimes are uniquely harmful, traumatizing both the individual and their community.”

In his column in the New York Post, Michael Goodwin noted how the Hamas attack exposed a darkness in Western society in what he called the “explosion of antisemitism in America and Europe.”

”Just as Israel was caught off guard by the Hamas terrorists, the outpouring of support for those savages on elite college campuses and the streets of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington as well as London and Paris has been a rude awakening of its own,” Goodwin explained.

“It’s as if a venomous snake had been in hiding and suddenly found a chance to emerge and strike,” he wrote.

Speaking live to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on September 24, Clarke stated:

This is the world we live in now, [and Americans] are scared, but being scared is not enough. I say, you can hide under the bed, you can do all this other stuff, but you can fight back. And the more these individuals, these perpetrators, realize that somebody is going to quickly be able to counter their nonsense, I think you’ll see less [of these attacks]. If nothing else, you’ll be able to play a role in saving your own life.

Clarke said that as things now stand, attackers pick soft targets and “know that they’ll be able to shed a lot of blood before the situation is stopped.” He said Americans need to “wake up and get out of this naive view that the police will be able to protect everybody all the time.” He talked about Public Safety Announcements (PSAs) he runs in Milwaukee County, reminding residents that “they are the front line in their own security.”

Police Blotter: Intoxication, Trespass, and the Usual Suspects

No, I'm not going to post about the despicable and cowardly bombings in Brussels.

All I'll say about that is this: if you have the legal right to carry a weapon, and you're NOT doing so, then you aren't paying attention.

Theft
Woman reported some perfume had been stolen from her room, date unknown, at some point after she lost her room keys, date also unknown. No suspects were identified.

Criminal Mischief/Trespass
Caller reported that man no longer welcome on his property had broken two uninstalled windows while retrieving his personal property from the residence. The unwelcome man admitted to breaking the windows, and also stated that the windows belonged to him. Said man was cited for trespass, per the homeowner's request.

Assault
[A man], 38 yoa, of Kodiak, was arrested on charges of Assault IV after he activated a fire extinguisher and sprayed it in a man's face from only a short distance away.

Welfare Check
Officers responded to a residence from which a call, which much hubbub and uproar in the background, had been received. Officers found several drunks, one of whom the homeowner did not wish to have on his property. The woman left without incident.

Suspicious Person/Activity
A number of unopened beers, believed to have been dropped by a drunken woman who had recently passed through the area, were found in the high school parking lot. Officers seized the alcohol and disposed of it.

Drunken Disturbance
An extremely inebriated caller requested an individual be removed from his residence. Officers responded and observed the individual in question leaving the residence.

Trespass
Library employee called to report an inebriated person harassing patrons at the library. The employee requested the inebriated person be contacted and advised that they are trespassed from the library for a period of 24 hours. Officers responded, contacted the suspect and advised him of the trespass. The suspect left shortly thereafter.

Domestic Disturbance
Officers responded to a residence wherein a mother wished to have her adult son evicted because he had been in her face. An officer advised the woman she could not force her son to leave his home. The mother expressed her displeasure by slamming the door in the officer's face.

Welfare Check
Caller reported that he wanted his adult sons removed from his house for drinking inside the house after being told not to. After being advised that the police could not remove known residents from their place of residence, the caller asked for a welfare check on his sons. They were found to be well, albeit intoxicated.

And said he doesn't plan any changes in base security.

The recent breaches in White House security are not only shocking; they are prophetic. It was revealed that the man who jumped the White House fence did not just make it to the unlocked front door, but actually got inside the White House, and deep inside of it. He was tackled by an off-duty agent who "just happened to be passing by."

This breach into what is considered the most important house in America is a reflection of the breakdown of security for the whole nation. Those whose most basic responsibility is the defense of our country have not done their job. They have left us vulnerable, and our enemies are now pouring through our porous borders.

In the prosecution of a crime, you look for a motive, means and opportunity. Those with the motive to kill Americans and destroy America now have the means and opportunity because of the failure of our government to secure our borders. It does not take a genius or a prophet to know our enemies are not going to let such an opportunity pass by, when our government is leaving the front door open to them, just as the front door of the White House was left open.

We are more vulnerable to terrorist attacks now than we have ever been. We will soon pay a terrible price if this is not addressed with the greatest resolve. The most basic responsibility of the federal government is defense, and the most basic defense of a nation begins with securing its borders. Our government leaders are presently guilty of the most basic dereliction of duty or treason. It must be one or the other.

Prepping or Attracting Attention?

I have enough for my family of four ... for us four, and no more ... to last for about two months.

That's more than many have, and less than some others. We have no yard, and can't garden, so that's out. But the fact we face every day is that 95% or more of Alaska's food is imported. Any interruption in the supply line will put a hurt on lots of folks, in fairly short order.

As has been described elsewhere, one federal agency tells us to be prepared, while another tells retailers that those who prepare are "potential" terrorists ... whatever that means. Point of fact: everybody but the Pope - and perhaps even he - is a "potential" terrorist.

How likely a person is to do anything remotely resembling terrorism is another thing entirely. I'm about as unlikely a "terrorist" as anyone ... father of two, an active follower of Jesus, productive member of society earning a wage & paying his taxes ... yes, I can see how that would inspire terror in a government employee.

Homeland Security Alert: Somali Terrorist in Texas?

According to a report at Pajamas Media:

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security warned Houston law enforcement that a Somali terrorist named Mohamed Ali could be in their area. Ali is a member of al-Shabaab, the terrorist group currently fighting for control of Somalia. Al-Shabaab has proven to be frighteningly effective at recruiting Westerners, including Americans.

The alert says that Ali is thought to have arrived via Mexico. He is likely part of a group of hundreds of Somalis that have snuck in through the open borders. This information needs to be inserted into the debate over border security that is now raging because of Arizona’s bill to combat illegal immigration.

In February, the authorities arrested a man in Virginia named Anthony Joseph Tracy, who has admitted to having contact with al-Shabaab. Tracy is believed to have smuggled 270 Somalis into the U.S. through Mexico. Let me say it again: An associate of al-Shabaab has snuck in nearly 300 Somalis from where they operate into the country. They remain here and we don’t know what they are up to.

This is beyond shameful ... it's criminal. If the D.C. crowd cared as much about U.S. citizens as they do about 'open borders' and global governance ... well.

Texans, you're already armed. You know what to do.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners are not allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Footnote: Fort Hood, Texas ......another Muslim 39 years old killed 13 people and wounded many others... Does this fit the profile?

As We Head Bravely Into the New Year,

our self-appointed lords & masters have decreed that we cannot stand, eat, drink, read, or use a bathroom for the last 60 minutes of airline flight. Why? Because the most recent example of I.T. (Incompetent Terrorist) managed to set himself on fire. His plan was thwarted by another passenger who jumped up & subdued Captain Underpants.

Therefore, we cannot get out of our seats during that time. After all, we mustn't allow the few people who can still think for themselves to do anything about the next attempt. That would be profiling ... so make sure you get a pass from the hall monitor, or else Janet "our system works" Napolitano will send you to the Principal's office. We must assume that one of the two remaining Air Marshals (if actually on the plane) will then arrest the miscreant, who will be charged with "standing up on a plane".

The First Church of Globular Warmering ("All hail Pope Algore the First!") has decreed that air travel produces so much carbon that henceforth the little people must be discouraged from flying. That's us, boys and girls. Only Algore plane can be permitted to fly - after all, he's zooming around the world in his private jet, producing approximately 20 times more carbon than the rest of us. Therefore, we must all stop, so that he can go on.

So lose your underwear, boys and girls, and prepare to fly commando - it seems Big Brother is going to further indulge his penchant for kabuki rather than do what's necessary to stop, you know, actual terrorists.

UPDATE: It seems that the new rules against standing, reading, going to the restroom, or breathing (well, you know what I mean) are being relaxed again. They didn't say anything about whether we'll be strip-searched or have our underwear inspected in the future.

Eight Years, and Counting

As we all struggle with our memories and feelings about the attack on America, and the thousands of innocent lives taken that day, let us also remember this:

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." (apocryphal, attributed to Winston Churchill)

Let us remember those who stand guard with firm resolve to prevent such an attack from happening again. Some of them wear a uniform, others a business suit, or work clothes. But all are on the front lines: the Middle East, intelligence-gathering, operating a missile defense system, flying a fighter, or simply serving to the best of their ability at whatever it is they do for us.

Let us all pray for them, that they may do their jobs with confidence, efficiency, and safety. And may they all be returned safely to those who love them.
