I'm tired, and giving myself a day off. Schedule changes, work changes, changes to the routine ... juggling work, medications, doctor and/or specialist visits ... cardiac monitor, sleep monitor ...
Only this: God is great, and His mercy lasts forever!

Nuthin'
I have nothing for you, gentle readers. The brain can't brain, the words won't word, and everything above the ears is on ye olde fritz.
Please help yourselves to the free ice cream in the sidebar; those folks write far better than I.

Ye Olde Muse
... didn't show up this morning. In other words, I've got nuthin'.
But there's plenty of free ice cream and cookies from the folks on the sidebar. Feel free to help yourselves.
Later, y'all.

Just in Case You're Wondering
I'm still here; just not inspired to write anything. But God's on His throne, and Jesus is coming soon, so the news isn't bad at all. :)
Plenty of talented folks have fresh posts, right there on the sidebar. Help yourself to all the free ice cream you can eat.

All Quiet on the Western Front
Or at least on this far-north, far-west blog.
Busy day, lots going on, and nothing catching my interest to write about.
Ah, well, it's Friday. Enjoy the weekend, friends!

Sorry
but my get-up-and-go "done got up and went", per the old saying. I've got nuthin'.
Nada, zilch, zippo, squat. Oh, and some diddly.
Later, y'all.

Gone Walkabout
My muse, that is. Got nada, zip, zilch, nuthin'.
Fortunately for you, there are plenty of good folks on the sidebar whose blogs are updated more frequently than mine.

Plenty of good stuff on the sidebar; help yourselves to all the free ice cream over there.
Have a fantabulous weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

There's Not Much
drama going on here; leastways, not much to write about. We paid our annual pound of flesh to Uncle Sam. Was a bigger chunk this year, but doable.
The weather remains calm & warm (for us), with highs approaching 50 every day, and lots of sunshine.
Sunrise today was at 6:34 am, and sunset will be at 9:24 pm. It gets light for 40 minutes prior to actual sunrise, and stays light for at least a half-hour after the sun goes down. The summer solstice is only two months away. Now we need the grass to turn green, or leaves to come out, or something.
With overnight lows finally staying above freezing, the remaining snowbanks should melt faster. The one by our driveway is only about three feet high, now.
Speaking of snow, the weatherman mentioned, this morning, that we never did get the normal amount of snow this year. We're about 6 or 7 inches below normal for the season, which isn't too bad. 65" instead of 72" is ... well, okay. That 165" we received a couple years back was taking a good thing a bit too far, though. :)

I'm Having One of Those Days
in which there's little inspiration to write, and a review of the news - local or national - just brings more disgust. I try to remain uplifting & hopeful in my posts, as there's plenty to keep one melancholy or worse, everyone you look.
But God's on His throne, and Jesus is coming soon. And that's reason enough to rejoice!

Not Feelin' It
I've got nothing this morning. Woke up too early, had some coffee, and now just sitting & listening to the wind howl outside.

A Little Bit o' This ...
and even less o' that.
The freak warm spell continues; we begin to worry about bears waking up, now. Meanwhile, the rapidly diminishing ground cover (snow) is causing avalanches and flooding in various places.
Local news: ... no injuries in a house fire ... the twin polar bears at theAnchorage Alaska Zoo celebrated their annual birthday (go figure!) ... there's a story about a man who roughed up his gal after pulling a gun on her, tried to run from the cops and crashed, then shot himself in the head. He didn't survive ... and a story about a local junior-high band teacher who's formed a drumline group. The writer allows as how it's noisy.
It's of passing interest to local residents; can't imagine it's all that interesting to you.
Sorry.

I'm Still Grinning
from yesterday's range trip. I keep going over the things I did wrong - and right - in my mind, planning for the next visit.
Meanwhile, I've got nothing else ... so when all else fails, there's always Doctor Who.
And one more: it seems Captain Obvious is a meteorologist.
Who knew, right?

Not Much of Anything
I don't know if it's the season, or the cold, lack of inspiration, or just a general absence of ambition ... but all y'all have probably noticed the lack of written posts recently.
I'll be back.
I'll be back.

A Dearth in the Family
Read the title carefully, please.
Anyone who's glanced at this blog in the last two weeks can tell that I've been running on fumes. There's just nothing there.
I'll come back when I have something worth your time. In the meantime, there's plenty of good reading material - and food for thought - on the sidebar.
I'll be closed for bizness, for awhile.

Nuthin' in the News
There's little-to-nothing going on in local news. At least, nothing that would be of much interest to anyone not living here.
Let's see ...
Like I said, nothing really appropriate for a blog post.
Our weather remains cool & rainy for the foreseeable future. The snow line continues to creep farther down the mountainsides. Let's just say I could drive uphill for 10 or 15 minutes and find snow on the ground.
Maybe I'll do that, this weekend, just for the heck of it.
The good folks on the sidebar have things of greater interest, so help yourselves to the free ice cream, and have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by, friends.
Let's see ...
- Anchorage, its Assembly and the labor unions representing city workers are still arguing over a labor law adopted earlier this year.
- A new eight-story office building will be going up in mid-town.
- A Wasilla city official, who resigned after being seen drunk at a city function, has been arrested for DUI.
- A former probation officer is being sued in civil court by 11 female parolees, who say he offered to overlook parole violations in exchange for sexual favors. He'd already lost his job and served six months for the criminal offense.
Like I said, nothing really appropriate for a blog post.

Muse? What Muse?
I've got plenty o' nuthin', this morning. The local news is slim pickings, and the only story anyone really cares about (locally) is the predicted wind & rain moving in late today or tonight.
About 60 per cent of our leaves are down now, and with 40mph winds in the forecast, we probably won't have many at all by Wednesday.
There are plenty of good reads on the sidebar, so help yourself to the free ice cream. Thanks for stopping by.
Meanwhile, the locals are double-checking to make sure they're ready in case of another period of power outages due to downed branches or trees taking out power lines.

Out of Steam
Got nuthin'.
I'll sort through more State Fair pics tonight, but there wasn't a lot going on. As I mentioned in the previous post, the humongous cabbage, pumpkins and what-have-you weren't there yet ... in fact, there wasn't much going on at the Fair except typical fair things: vendors, food stands and rides. You know, things that everyone has seen. Nothing special other than the scenery around fair grounds.
Meanwhile, I watch the elected officials considering military action in (against?) Syria, and note only that there's not the slightest Constitutional authority for initiating military action to "make a point".
But what do I know?
Anyway, I'll try to come up with something later on. Later on!

Rough Night

There's only this, about another bear encounter:
Wildlife officials are recommending people stay away from the Rover's Run trail in Far North Bicentennial Park after a brown bear charged a cyclist Tuesday.
Four women biking the trail had a close encounter Tuesday morning, said Dave Battle, a wildlife biologist with the state Department of Fish and Game. The first two passed by a bear in some bushes but did not see it, Battle said. The third woman spotted it, and it charged the fourth, he said.
"It was probably typical defensive behavior," Battle said. "Sometime brown bear behavior is to run away and sometimes it's to run at the person."
