Monday Again? Let's See About That

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually ... from a non-linear non-subjective viewpoint ..it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff."*

The Secret to Success

so they say, is to find a niche that needs filling, and then fill it better than anyone else can.

Take these creations creations, for example:
The tenth Doctor (Doctor Who)

His companion, Rose (Doctor Who)

Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly)

Yes, those are recycled Mickey Mouse Club hats.

Oh - and that last one? She said this was the second one of that model she'd ever made. The first one was for some bloke named Nathan Fillion.

Some Words About Words

or the lack thereof.

Y'all will have noticed that I haven't written much, lately. I wish I could say there's a reason for that, but that would be an over-simplification.

One BIG thing is that I, like many another conservative-slash-libertarian, am simply overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of Progressive stupidity and defiance of the laws of the land.

One can only remain in a state of outrage for so long, before one's anger is burned out.

That's not to be construed as saying I now approve of the lawlessness which seems to pervade every level of government, and every agency therein. It is to say that I am tired of banging the drum and repeating myself. And of course, that's exactly what the Progressives intend.

But it also occurs to me that righteous indignation and fierce anger are eventually replaced by either apathy/fatigue, or a cold anger. And that last one can be dangerous to that which inspired it.

One a personal note, my wife and I are doing something we've not tried before. The BBC offered a two-evening event at local theaters.

Last night's showing was a two-part Doctor Who episode ("Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel") from David Tennant's first season. It was fun to be surrounded by all those Whovians, who laughed in all the right places, understood the references, and got it without explanations.

The Doctor Who t-shirts and other clothing worn by many of the attendees, and the on-screen Who trivia contest was fun, too.

Tonight is a new, HD film which BBCAmerica describes as "the earth from a bird’s eye view in “Wings 3D” narrated by David Tennant".

I'm sorry not to spend more time with all of you, but the well is dry ... for now.

I'm Still Grinning

from yesterday's range trip. I keep going over the things I did wrong - and right - in my mind, planning for the next visit.

Meanwhile, I've got nothing else ... so when all else fails, there's always Doctor Who.

We should all be so lucky ... just a quick trip, once around the universe, 'kay?

And one more: it seems Captain Obvious is a meteorologist.

Who knew, right?

Lessons Learned From Doctor Who

Since the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who is this Saturday (you knew that, right?), this seems an appropriate time* to post this:

Lessons From the Doctor

A Dearth in the Family

Read the title carefully, please.

Anyone who's glanced at this blog in the last two weeks can tell that I've been running on fumes. There's just nothing there.

I'll come back when I have something worth your time. In the meantime, there's plenty of good reading material - and food for thought - on the sidebar.

I'll be closed for bizness, for awhile.

Here's Something Interesting: Firearms Comparison

You know how certain websites for new/used cars have a "compare" feature, where you can list the specs for two or more models side-by-side?

Wouldn't it be cool if someone did that for firearms?

Now they do, at a site called findthebest.com:

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but it's being developed by a fellow Whovian. How could I refuse?

p.s. They've offered me nothing but a brief conversation about which Doctor I like best. So there.
