Vote Democrat, Or Else

Thank you to Anonymous II and Misha for bringing to our attention what the Dems are planning to do if Trump wins the election.  Four short years ago they were laughing at us.  Now they’re making threats.  Take a look around you.  They’re going to make it WORSE.  This isn’t an election, this is a war.

What you are witnessing is the slow realization on the part of the Democratic powers that be that they may be looking at a genuine Republican landslide.  Their little theory to explain a front loaded Republican pseudo victory is probably mostly rationalization.  It’s also why they’re projecting about Trump possibly not wanting to leave.  They’re trying to create their own reality through the prophecy of words, exerting magical control over the future.  It’s all quite pathological.

They want to soften the impact on election night and still preserve some room to maneuver in the aftermath.  Yet the public will likely see an electoral tsunami for Trump and the Democrats will be left with saying, “Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?”

You’re talking about a limited number of states that are actually in play where this will work itself out.  Republicans will press for high standards to qualify legitimate ballots and Dems will press for the opposite.  It may end up in the courts in more than one state.

My guess is, though, that there will be a canary in the mine which will enable us to see if it actually was close.  If we see some reliably blue states flip red in inarguable proportions, ones that Trump wasn’t counting on or expecting, that will be the toll of the bell.

If you don’t think a landslide is possible, consider the view from thirty thousand feet.  President with excellent record on the economy gets hit by the Covid plague and manages it with minimal grief, though much inconvenience.  He’s on the side of getting back to normal and reopening the schools.  Economy is rebounding aggressively.  Lie after lie emanates from the left.  Leftists riot for over a hundred days in a dozen major cities – hard leftists, “trained Marxists”.  The Dems and the media refuse not only to condemn them but even acknowledge the fact of the rioting until after Labor Day.  Who will forget scenes of burning buildings in the background with reporters insisting that the protests are “mostly peaceful”?

Basically all Dems have to offer is endless disease and rioting.

The Democrats could not do any worse if they were consciously and aggressively trying to lose this election.  All that’s left is for Biden to get lost and be the subject of an “amber alert”.

It's Upon Us Now

The Time Is Now

A decade or so ago, I wrote a piece entitled “Righting the Wrongs”, publishing it here and on another blog. The response was ... well, underwhelming. The lack of comments at the time made me think that it did not inspire many folks.

I republished it a couple of years later, and received a much greater response.

Regarding the elections in 2008, 2012, and 2016, I preached, cajoled, and practically begged folks to think – think! – about who (and what) they were voting for – and then about what they had received.

But none of that matters now.

I’ve said all that to say this: ladies and gentlemen, we are being raped. Viciously, maliciously, and with great pleasure by those in the government whose goal is the pure-and-simple gathering of power and control. They don’t care what they have to say, what lies they must tell, what lands they must grab, or what new (and usually unconstitutional) laws and regulations they pass.

It’s all about gaining power and control – and then keeping it. And it’s obvious now that the progressive crew in D.C. is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.

If you think not, remember that Bobby Francis O'Rourke literally just said, "Hell yes, we're going to take away your AR-15" to thunderous applause.

In the last few years, the vast silent majority has awakened, and risen up like some colossus of old. We have carried signs, written letters, sent e-mails, run ads, and made phone calls until the very switchboards in the Nation’s capital have overheated and shut down.

Did it do any good? Any number of radical, "Progressive" gun registration/confiscation bills have been silently pulled and put away for a later date.

The bad news is, now appears to be that later date.

So, my blogger friends, we have battled, persuaded, cajoled, argued, and typed our fingers sore, and have we convinced any? Sure we have … but not enough. Not enough.

So what more can we do?

If you’re of a Christian persuasion, I’m sure you’ve been praying, right? Right? Even if you’re not, I’ll bet some of you have been praying anyway.

But it comes down to trusting in God – however you approach Him – and not in ourselves. With His help, we are MIGHTY. Even if we can’t see what He’s doing, we have the assurance that He is involved, and will not let His people down.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us(Romans 8:31)

“But Reverend Paul," (you may ask), "isn’t there something else we can do?”

I’m glad you asked. Alan Caruba wrote a piece for “Insight on Freedom” (sadly, no longer available) which compared our times with those of the mid-1770s, leading up to Lexington and Concord.

Are we at the point of civil disobedience? Some think so, and there have been sporadic outbreaks of that. And didn’t the progressive crowd huddle together and bleat for a cessation? Yes, just those few incidents got their attention. But then they gathered themselves and carried on, harder and faster than before.

So what, then? Armed rebellion? Please, God, no; that time is not yet (and I hope it does NOT come) although I dare say it’s a darn sight closer than any of us thought it would ever be, in our times. In fact, I will predict right now that if gun confiscation begins in earnest, there WILL be a civil war. And the gun owners (civilians, not paid thugs) will win.

Let me repeat that: we will win. But it will be messy, bloody, and too horrible to contemplate here.

Stand your ground, my friends. Refuse to back up another inch. As is stated in the header over at Western Rifle Shooters“Do not give in to Evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.”
They can only take that which you allow them to take. They know we outnumber them, but for decades they have managed to lull most of us to sleep. And today, we're told, they will probably pass a bill in the House to more-or-less trick the Puerto Ricans into voting for Statehood, which those folks have always opposed in the past. This will garner some 4 million voters who will be eligible for welfare and other forms of Big Government largesse, as well as putting two more Senators and six Representatives on Capitol Hill.

And don't you just know which party those will belong to?

Well, no more.

Get active, stay involved, and DO NOT BACK DOWN. They are trying to steal your freedom, folks, and have managed to get most of the way there.

No more.

It’s time to take this Nation back from those who have unlawfully usurped authority. It is they who are "clinging bitterly" to the reins of power, defying all who rise up in opposition.

Take it back; it’s yours to win or lose. But now; get involved now, because we're running out of time. Get involved at your level, city, county or state, but make it count. Let your voices be heard; insist on changes that are Constitutionally-sound and aimed at making things right.

Remember that power flows upward, from the people to their representatives in government. In fact, insist on it. Remind your local officials, who tend to be more responsive, that there's an election soon. Make sure they hear that message, loud and clear.

We've been asleep - and that's our fault. But we won't be, anymore. We know what America is supposed to be, and we insist that it be restored. No more nanny-statist, power-grabbing politics.

NO MORE.

It's HIS Fault: a Recap

With the understanding that, no matter what we do, say or forward, we will never ever change the mind
of a committed ideologue, I hope you all will understand that that is not the intent of forwarding this on.
We do so in the hope that it will help the 80% of math and fact challenged Americans to get a grip on
reality, thus enabling them to get off the fence under their own power rather than be violently pushed
off by the coming onslaught of lying left wing media losers.

So... let's examine exactly whose fault this is.

B-b-b-But It's HIS Fault

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush.
Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this BULL.

So once more, a short civics lesson:

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that

controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for FY 2008 & FY 2009 as well

as FY 2010 & FY 2011. (FY = fiscal year)

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise

on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing
continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office.
At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time?

He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills,
and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember
what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican
budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit
spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes
Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for
and then

I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

There is probably no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us tells someone else.
This is your chance to make a difference.

Stay Focused, Connected, Informed and Inspired.

Feds threaten to shut down Texas air travel if TSA bill passes

The U.S. Department of Justice bullied Texas lawmakers into backing off proposed legislation that would make invasive TSA pat-downs without probable cause illegal.

HB1937 unanimously passed the Texas House on May 13. A week later, the bill passed favorably out of the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee. But a letter delivered to key senators from U.S. Attorney John E. Murphy on Tuesday stopped the bill dead in its tracks.
Murphy threatened to turn Texas into a no-fly zone should the bill become law.

“If HR [sic] 1937 were enacted, the federal government would likely seek an emergency stay of the statute,” Murphy wrote. “Unless or until such a stay were granted, TSA would likely be required to cancel any flight or series of flights for which it could not ensure the safety of passengers and crew,” he wrote. “We urge that you consider the ramifications of this bill before casting your vote.”

The ominous letter prompted senate sponsor Dan Patrick (R-Houston) to pull the bill.

Bill author Rep. David Simpson (R-Longwood) challenged the DOJ position. “Instead of threatening to shut down flights in Texas, why doesn’t the TSA just show us their statutory authority to grope or ogle our private parts? All that HB 1937 does is require that the TSA abide by the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. We aren’t even prohibiting the pat-downs, per se. We’re just saying you can’t go straight to third base. You have to have a reason – you have to have probable cause – before groping someone’s sexual organs.”

Murphy backed up the federal threat with a Constitutional appeal.

“Under the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution, Texas has no authority to regulate federal agents and employees in the performance of their federal duties or pass a statute that conflicts with federal law,” he wrote.

TAC communications director Mike Maharrey pointed out that only federal laws made in pursuance of the Constitution stand supreme, and the clause does not grant the federal government carte blanch power to pass and enforce any old law it sees fit.

“Surely Mr. Murphy isn’t suggesting that the supremacy clause serves as a blanket under which federal agents can grope and fondle American citizens,” Maharrey said.

News of the federal threat quickly spread. An article posted on the Tenth Amendment Center website Wednesday morning was pummeled with hits, temporarily shutting down the server for a short time.
“This is clearly an issue that resonates with most Americans, regardless of their political viewpoint. People look at the TSA procedures and immediately get that they cross way over the line,” Maharrey said. “And this argument that it’s necessary to stand around in our socks and some stranger grope our private parts in order to ensure airline safety simply doesn’t fly. Nobody believes that. It’s like we’ve turned our creepy uncle loose in the airport, let him harass us and then quietly submit when he bullies us into sitting down and shutting up because he has a badge.”

A new, updated, Dr. Seuss book

I do not like this Uncle Sam,
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their secret deals.
I do not like this speaker, Nan ,
I do not like this 'YES WE CAN.'
I do not like this spending spree,
I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.
I do not like your smug replies,
when I complain about your lies.
I do not like this kind of 'hope'.
I do not like it, nope, nope, nope!

The Time Is Now

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a piece entitled “Righting the Wrongs” and published it here and on another blog. The response was ... well, underwhelming. I accept that I don’t reach that many people, and although the site had roughly the same number of hits as on any other day when The Liberty Sphere links to it (that is to say, around a hundred), the lack of comments made me think that it did not inspire many folks.

Regardless, I’ve tried to keep this blog going – and Heaven literally knows I poured my heart into it from mid-2008, prior to the last national election, through last year's protests and Tea Parties. I preached, I cajoled, and practically begged folks to think – think! – about who (and what) they were voting for – and then about what they had received.

Sure enough, I have followers – and for them I am grateful – but there’s a magic number of hits (that 100 that I mentioned) above which I have rarely reached. But none of that matters now.

I’ve said all that to say this: ladies and gentlemen, we are being raped. Viciously, maliciously, and with great pleasure by those in the government whose goal is the pure-and-simple gathering of power and control. Clouds on the Horizon

The after-effects of the nation's quickening descent into socialism are beginning to be felt by one and all.

The Liberty Sphere carries a story about a fellow who's already been told his health insurance premiums will increase by $200 per month, effective April 1st. He won't be the last.

My friend Jenny has posted an amazing, heartbreaking essay about what we've done to our heritage of liberty over at A Call To Wings.

DR at the Maritime Sentry has an excellent video about Obamacare: taxes, spending, and kickbacks.

Larry Correia highlights a debate that took place in his comments section, where a kool-aid drinker receives some schoolin' on what's really going on.

Left Coast Rebel highlights a New York Times article admitting that the "health care reform" was really about socialism. No! Really?

And finally (for now), the Anchorage Fish-wrap/Birdcage Liner blathers about how the "reform" bill has a "temporary fix" for Alaska's Medicare recipients who haven't been able to find a primary care provider. State House Democrats (of course!) point out that "the health care overhaul opens the opportunity for states to supplement federal Medicare payments out of their own budgets." Great! Another unfunded opportunity to order sovereign states - which the Supreme Court has already ruled are NOT political subdivisions of the U.S., and can't be ORDERED to pay for federal programs - to pay for a federal program.

So what happens in those states where they're already on the edge of bankruptcy, and can't afford the programs that are already in place?

17 June 2009

Quote of the Day

This isn’t healthcare reform. It is the destruction of the best healthcare system in the world. It is the destruction of the nation’s economy. It, along with the tax on energy use, must be stopped.

We are being attacked by one “crisis” after another when the only one that matters is the restoration of the full faith and credit of the U.S. dollar. If the “health” of the U.S. dollar is not restored, nothing else will matter very much.

Tea Party: Anchorage, Alaska

Amazingly enough, the local press is getting it right: it's an "anti-government spending protest" and not just about taxes.

"Anti-government spending protests are planned across Alaska on Wednesday as part of a national Tax Day Tea Party protest, organized by a wide coalition of conservative groups."
- - - -
snip
- - - -
"In Alaska, tax day protests have been scheduled in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Haines, Homer, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Soldotna and Wasilla, according to a national Web site."

Here's the rest of what the Anchorage Daily News is saying about tomorrow's scheduled "tea party."

Wednesday Morning - Odds, Ends & The Volcano

Flash: The U.S. Justice Department has decided to drop all charges against former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, Attorney Gen. Eric Holder announced this morning.

Sen. Stevens' team has been demanding - since before the original convictions - that the charges be dropped due to prosecutorial misconduct. Today, the Justice Dept. agreed that the conviction "cannot be defended" and agreed with the defense's request to throw the charges out.

Isn't it amazing? He just had to be convicted before the election, in order to reduce the number of Republicans in the Senate - and now that he's lost his seat to a Democrat, he's suddenly 'not guilty.'

Do ya suppose that the U.S. attorneys will be punished or disbarred for their unprofessional misconduct and possibly illegal pursuit of bogus charges against the most senior Republican senator on the Hill?

BWAAHAHAHA! What am I saying??

******************************

Mt. Redoubt has been rumbling & sending up ash, steam, and smoke to about the 20,000 to 25,000 foot levels since yesterday. Fortunately, nothing except a smoky haze reached this far. Today, the winds are supposed to shift from out of the SW to the W, blowing ... well, whatever comes out ... due east.

******************************

It's 12 degrees this morning, with a light frost. AccuHunch is guessing we'll have some more snow by the weekend, and then "a big warm-up" next week. It is that time of year for break-up, when the ice-cover on the waters begins to break up. Y'all can call it spring, if you want. Here, it's more like dust, mud, and lots of black pools of water on the roads & parking lots - a big mess.

And this one will be dustier, due to the ash that fell last weekend. Joy & happiness, all 'round!

******************************

The Anchorage airport was closed again, late yesterday afternoon, due to atmospheric conditions (read ash). It will apparently reopen sometime this morning.

******************************

That's about it, for now. A day without the constant apprehension about falling ash & resultant business closures will be a welcome one.

Have a great day, folks!

Alaska vs. "Stimulus" Funds

Much has been made of Governor Palin's request for only part of the porkulus. Let's see why:

The feds say Alaska could have more weatherization funds, if only we'll develop & adhere to a Uniform Building Code. Sorry, can't help you. What works in Juneau or Anchorage won't work north of the Arctic Circle (325 miles north of Anchorage). You can't dig footings in permafrost, just as an example. You can't lay water & sewer lines, for the same reason. Many villages have no running water, but bring in blocks of ice for their water supply. Porta-potties are the norm.

The feds say we could get more money for air quality funding, but we'd have to amend our statutes first. Nope.

They say we can get more money to expand the unemployment program - except that, in two years when the federal money dries up, Alaska would promptly go in the hole for the new, larger program. No thanks, again.

To quote Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell: "In all these cases, Washington is clearly trying to overtake Alaska with its agenda, and we are standing against that interference. In Alaska, our freedom is not for sale."

Another Federal Program Tries to Outgrow its Britches

The Transportation Security Administration is proposing to make ALL planes over 12,500 lbs meet the same security measures imposed on commercial airliners.

This includes propeller driven craft, cargo planes, and medevac flights. Read more about it here.

There's already a coalition of those pilots and operators who will be meeting with Senator Lisa Murkowski on Feb. 20. I noticed this because my boss owns a couple of business-class jets: one for charter, and one for Life Alaska, which does medevacs and donated-organ flights.

I hadn't seen it anywhere else, but thanks to the Alaska Journal of Commerce for pointing out another unfunded mandate that would put many, many small carriers out of business.
